TRAMA

How do you sustain being an artist within this system without abandoning your own creative freedom?

“let us make the invisible the matter of encounter”

IIITRAMA

Where it comes from

TRAMA is born from my own path as an actor and artist-creator. From the conflict between being a worker in the arts, who needs to produce, organise herself, earn money, create opportunities and survive, and at the same time protect the delicate space where creation happens.

On my own journey, I discovered that my creative freedom depended on my being able to sustain a safe space for it to unfold.

TRAMA is not only about how to create. It is also about how to build a life capable of sustaining the artist that exists in you.

And about choosing what your narrative about your own life is, as emancipation from your own creation.

A workshop of investigation and practice for those who wish to develop an artistic life, but find it hard to turn desire into movement.

This is not training in a specific artistic language. It is a space to discover what you want to create, what is holding that creation back and how to build concrete conditions for it to exist.

Seed Project

Each person comes in with a Seed Project and leaves with something moving in the world.

  • book
  • short film
  • play
  • artistic profile
  • photo series
  • song
  • performance
  • script
  • exhibition

The eight sessions

01DesireThe artist before the work

What would I do if I allowed myself to be an artist?

Before productivity, résumé or market, desire. Who is this artist, what do they want to say, what works would they make before knowing if they are "good".

  • meditation to meet the artist
  • automatic writing
  • timeline of the relationship with art
  • 10 things I would create if I had no fear

practice Morning Pages and the first Meeting with the Artist.

02KnotWhat stops me from creating?

Why is there a distance between what I say I want and what I actually do?

Investigation of beliefs, patterns and blocks that run through artistic making: perfectionism, comparison, fear of exposure, "I started too late", "I need to study more first".

  • body meditation
  • map of blocks
  • written dialogue Artist × Critic
  • inherited phrases about art, money and talent

practice Choose one block and take one small action against it.

03VoiceWhat makes a work mine?

What could only have been created by me?

Authorship not as an obligation to invent the never-seen, but as recognition of the obsessions that keep returning: images, wounds, questions, aesthetics, contradictions.

  • map of obsessions
  • my artistic ancestors
  • five works that shaped me
  • Artist’s Manifesto

practice A small piece that holds something deeply yours.

04PracticeStop waiting to begin

How does art fit into the life I actually have?

Wanting to be an artist is different from having an artistic practice. Availability and discipline, inspiration and consistency, and the fantasy that one day there will be enough time, money and security.

  • audit of the week
  • time and energy map
  • ritual for entering creation
  • sustainable minimum routine

practice The Minimum Possible Artistic Practice: not the ideal routine, the one you can sustain now.

05PulseEnthusiasm as a tool

What makes me want to keep going?

Enthusiasm as information: where there is life, what expands, what I would do even without any guarantee of recognition.

  • body listening
  • expand × contract map
  • body improvisation
  • seven-day enthusiasm journal

practice If success could not be the goal of your art for a year, what would you do?

06StructureA life where art fits

What does my art need to survive?

Time, money, a side job, schedule, networks, portfolio, people, space, partnerships. The work also needs structure.

  • resource map
  • artistic budget
  • have / need / can get matrix
  • three-month calendar

practice Small, checkable goals for the next three months.

07RealisationHow an idea becomes a project

How do I make this exist without waiting to be chosen?

Self-production. What, why, for whom, with whom, where, how much it costs, what the first step is. An actor can produce a short film. A writer can self-publish. An artist can start small.

  • artistic project canvas
  • 1-minute pitch
  • reverse timeline
  • map of collaborators

practice The Seed Project with a name, a budget and a first step.

08GesturePutting something into the world

What is my next concrete gesture?

This does not end with a class, it ends with a rite of passage. Each person presents their trama, and the Seed Project transformed into a Project in Motion.

  • reading, performance, pitch or video
  • 90-day continuity plan
  • a letter to the artist one year from now

practice I wanted… I noticed what was holding me back… I discovered my voice… I decided to build… And now I will…

The rite of the final session

  1. I wanted…
  2. I noticed what was holding me back…
  3. I discovered my voice…
  4. I decided to build…
  5. And now I will…

The workshop ends, but the trama continues.
